Within Our Walls

Whether new to our church or a long-time member, your
time and talents can help us bring the worship experience
to others in our community. If you have an interest in
any of these opportunities, please contact our church secretary
at admin@pleasanthillumc.org.

Assist with lighting the altar candles, which symbolizes the presence
of Jesus Christ entering into the worshiping community.

Adult Choirs (Praise, Chancel, Hand Bells)

Share your musical talents with your church family. More
information about each of these groups is provided under the
“Ministries” tab under “Music Ministries.” Contact Music Director
Greg Baldwin for rehearsal times.

A/V (Audio – Visual) Volunteer

Assist with the operation of lights, sound, and video during
our service. Training is provided and no experience is necessary.
Passions and skills that are helpful for serving in this role include
some knowledge in audio/visual and video production.

Children Time

Welcome children to a worship time of Bible story and lesson,
singing and prayer during Church services.

Communion Server

Sign up to assist in serving Holy Communion for our
Sunday services. You may select the time and date of your choice.

We would like to have members of the congregation become more
personally involved in worship by acting as liturgists. This involves
reading the Scripture Lesson, leading the congregation in printed
confession and prayer.

“First Responders”

You will pick up and deliver a welcome gift bag to first-time visitors
who live in your area to help welcome them to Pleasant Hill. This
is a great opportunity for individuals, or parents and children to
serve together.

New Member Welcome Team

contacts Pleasant Hill’s newest members by phone within four to
six weeks of joining the church to extend the hand of hospitality
and offer assistance with getting connected into the life of the
Church beyond worship.

Provides care for children during church services and events.
Volunteers need to be Safe & Sacred spaces certified.

Re-Connection Team

We reach out to Pleasant Hill members who have been unable
to attend worship recently by extending a message of love and
concern and also providing information about opportunities to get
connected at Pleasant Hill. Schedule: Making phone calls from
home and/or sending notes or emails.

Seatback Stuffing

Be a dedicated “stuffer”! Serve once a month (either alone or with
friends or family members at your convenience during the week)
and help keep the sanctuary seatbacks filled with prayer cards,
communication cards, offering envelopes and pens.

Sunday School Leader

Sunday School is a place where many students meet Christ for
the first time and begin their journey toward becoming deeply
committed Christians. Co-lead a group of 1st-12th grade students
prior to our 10:30am worship time. Volunteers need to be Safe &
Sacred spaces certified.

Join our usher team, volunteering with a smile once a month (or
more) at one of the various worship services. This important
ministry involves handing out bulletins, directing congregants
to their seats, and passing the notebooks and offering plates
during worship
