Please take time to prepare your heart and mind for worship.

The Light of the Candle Symbolizes Christ’s Presence Among Us

† Praise Song “All the People Said AMEN”

† Please stand as you are able.

You are not alone if you are lonely. When you feel afraid, you’re

not the only. We are all the same in need of mercy. To be forgiven

and be free, it’s all you got to lean on but thank God it’s all you

need. And all the people said Amen, whoa, and all the people said

Amen. Give thanks to the Lord for His love never ends and all the

people said Amen.

If you’re rich or poor, well, it don’t matter. Weak or strong, you

know love is what we’re after. We’re all broken but we’re all in

this together. God knows we stumble and fall and He so loved the

world He sent His son to save us all. And all the people said

Amen, whoa, and all the people said Amen. Give thanks to the

Lord for His love never ends and all the people said Amen.

Blessed are the poor in spirit who are torn apart.

Blessed are the persecuted and the pure in heart.

Blessed are the people hungry for another start,

for theirs is the kingdom, the kingdom of God.

And all the people said Amen, whoa, and all the people said Amen.

Give thanks to the Lord for His love never ends and all the people

said Amen. And all the people said Amen, whoa, and all the

people said Amen. Give thanks to the Lord for His love never ends

and all the people said Amen. And all the people said Amen.† Call to Worship † Please stand as you are able.

† Hymn “Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling” #348, verses 1, 2, 4

† Please stand as you are able.

1. Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, calling for you and for me;

see, on the portals he’s waiting and watching,

watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home; ye who are weary come home;

earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling, O sinner, come home!

2. Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,

pleading for you and for me?

Why should we linger and heed not his mercies,

mercies for you and for me?

Come home, come home; ye who are weary come home;

earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling, O sinner, come home!

4. O for the wonderful love he has promised, promised for you

and for me! Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,

pardon for you and for me.

Come home, come home; ye who are weary come home;

earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling, calling, O sinner, come home!

Unison Prayer You may be seated.

All: The hills hear Your voice, O Lord. The mountains quake

before You. As we call on Your name, help us walk in the ways of

righteousness and speak in tones of peace. As we seek to be

blameless and do what is right, may our hearts be free from guile

and deceit, that we be known as peace makers, the blessed

children of God. Amen.Ministry Moment

Children’s Time

“All Night, All Day”

All night, all day, angels watching over me, my Lord. All night, all

day, angels watching over me. All night, all day, angels watching

over me, my Lord. All night, all day, angels watching over me.

Reading from the Old Testament: Micah 6:1-8 (NRSVUE)

Listen to what the Lord says:

“Stand up, plead my case before the mountains; let the hills hear what

you have to say.

2 “Hear, you mountains, the Lord’s accusation; listen, you everlasting

foundations of the earth. For the Lord has a case against his people; he

is lodging a charge against Israel.

3 “My people, what have I done to you? How have I

burdened you? Answer me. 4 I brought you up out of Egypt and

redeemed you from the land of slavery. I sent Moses to lead you, also

Aaron and Miriam. 5 My people, remember what Balak king of Moab

plotted and what Balaam son of Beor answered. Remember your

journey from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous acts of

the Lord.”

6 With what shall I come before the Lord and bow down before the

exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves

a year old? 7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten

thousand rivers of olive oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my

transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He has

shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of

you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Leader: This is the Word of God, for the People of God.

All: Thanks be to God.

Joys and Concerns/ Silent Prayer/ Pastoral Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy

name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in

heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our

trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead

us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the

kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Reading from the Gospel: Matthew 5:1-12 (NRSVUE)

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat

down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.

He said:

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they

will be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for

theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say

all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad,

because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they

persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Sermon “Ka-Chang” by Pastor Marge

Praise Song “Made for More”

I know who I am ’cause I know who You are.

The cross of salvation was only the start.

Now I am chosen, free and forgiven,

I have a future and it’s worth the living.

Refrain: ‘Cause I wasn’t made to be tending a grave, I was

called by name, born and raised back to life again. I was made

for more. So why would I make a bed in my shame when a

fountain of grace is running my way? I know I am Yours and I

was made for more.

I know who I am ’cause I know who You are.

The cross of salvation was only the start.

Now I am chosen, free and forgiven,

I have a future and it’s worth the living. [Refrain]Hallelujah, You called out my name so I’ll sing out Your praise.

Hallelujah, You buried my past, I’m not going back.

Hallelujah, You called out my name so I’ll sing out Your praise.

Hallelujah, You buried my past, I’m not going back. [Refrain]

and will come again to judge the living and the dead.

† Please stand as you are able.

The Light of Christ Goes Before Us into the World

1. Jesus is all the world to me, my life, my joy, my all;

he is my strength from day to day, without him I would fall.

When I am sad, to him I go, no other one can cheer me so;

when I am sad, he makes me glad, he’s my friend.

2. Jesus is all the world to me, my friend in trials sore;

I go to him for blessings, and he gives them o’er and o’er.

He sends the sunshine and the rain,

he sends the harvest’s golden grain;

sunshine and rain, harvest of grain, he’s my friend.

4. Jesus is all the world to me, I want no better friend;

I trust him now, I’ll trust him when life’s fleeting days shall end.

Beautiful life with such a friend, beautiful life that has no end;

eternal life, eternal joy, he’s my friend.
